If this video doesn’t get you to start working out than I will punch you in the face.

This is the story of Arthur, a disabled war vet.  Due to injuries he received while serving in the military, Arthur was told he would never be able to walk on his own ever again.  Resigned to his fate he began to gain a ton of weight, which just made matters even worse.

His disabilities prevented him from doing any kind of meaningful exercise unti one day he discovered an article on yoga, which happened to feature the wrestler Diamond Dallas Page.  The two quickly started corresponding and Diamond Dallas offered his support and guidance along the way.  The rest is history.  This is a truly inspirational story.  If Arthur can do it, so can you!

P.S. They are trying to raise money to turn Arthur’s story into a full documentary.  If you liked this video, check out their Kickstarter page, and send them some love.

Like a newly forged sword beaten into shape by the blacksmith’s hammer, it’s the tough times that shape you.  Everyone has to start somewhere and the bottom might not have a nice view but you also have a lot less to fall when you slip up — and you will slip up.  This is the time to make all your mistakes on your way to greatness.  Find out what works, what doesn’t and enjoy the ride.

“Knowledge without follow-through is worse than no knowledge.” – Henry Charles Bukowski

The story of the doctor…

There is nothing worse than not living up to your potential.  You have so much knowledge to share, it’s time you put it to good use.  But you might say to yourself “I have no special knowledge.”  But It’s not true.

I have a friend who is a doctor and he is just starting out.  He has a good job working for a good company which has enabled him to gain valuable real world experience.  He has a brilliant mind and  I have been trying to convince him to start a blog or a podcast, something where he can have a platform to talk about all his great ideas and theories.  He won’t do it, constantly citing that he doesn’t “know enough” just yet.  Well this response always leaves me flabbergasted.  He went through 8 years of schooling and he doesn’t know enough to start a podcast?  Bullshit.

This is something that many people, including myself, struggle with.  The special knowledge that you gain becomes so familiar that it seems almost common sense.  But in reality, to someone who is hearing it for the very first time, it could be life changing.  Knowledge that seems like common sense to you could be undiscovered genius for others. They have to hear it first somewhere.  It might as well be you.

Have you ever hit bottom?  It is a liberating experience.  There is some sort of comfort in knowing that you cannot possibly drop any further.  And in this moment, when you have absolutely nothing left to lose, you can become reborn.

You are free to succeed.  More setbacks are certain.  Anyone can be successful when things are going good.  But it is those that show resilience through adversity that achieve their wildest dreams.
